MyChatExport

MyChatExport is a Chrome extension that exports a single ChatGPT conversation to Markdown or PDF, generated entirely inside your browser.

The problem it solves is that a long ChatGPT thread is never fully on screen at once — the browser keeps the part you are looking at and drops the rest. Anything that copies what is visible copies only that part, and hands you a shortened file with nothing to warn you. MyChatExport takes the other route: it requests the conversation you have open, works from the full message list rather than from what happens to be painted, and writes the whole thing to a file.

Two formats, each with a reason. Markdown is a plain .md file with headings, lists, tables, block quotes and fenced code blocks preserved — it drops straight into Obsidian, Notion, or a git repository and stays searchable and diffable. PDF goes through Chrome's own print engine, so it is an ordinary searchable document with conversation images embedded, and it carries no watermark, footer or banner on any tier.

Every export finishes with a plain-language result line — for example "Exported 4 messages (complete)." — so a short file is something you see immediately rather than months later. Failures get the same treatment plus a suggested next step, and a failed export does not consume your daily allowance.
